When I received my first espresso maker, I became excited. Our small group met twice a month, and I wanted to make lattes and fancy coffee drinks for them. But the time spent to create each drink nearly took up an hour of our two hour meeting. Instead, I discovered a wide assortment of Italian Soda possibilities that our small group recently enjoyed.
Letting them pick their soda and flavors added a different appeal and a touch of festivity. It’s these kind of treats that can liven up your group meeting fairly inexpensively, especially if you have a group like mine where there are many diet restrictions.
Gingerale or 7up
Jar of Maraschino Cherries
half n half
Cherry Italian Soda: Add one can of gingerale or 7up to a dinner glass. Holding back the cherries, pour in a little of the cherry juice to taste, toss in two or three cherries. For a Cherry Italian Cream Soda, add a little half n half to the drink and top with whipped cream and a cherry (see above picture).
Cranberry Italian Soda, Mango Italian Soda:Use same process as above, but use the Nector juice or cranberry juice for flavoring.
