We Must Do It For The Children

IMG_3545From the beginning of recorded history, humans have made monumental decisions based upon the needs of their children. Some parents would move far away from the land in which they themselves were born and raised, because they wanted their children to have a better chance in the world.

The Pilgrims, who left England, and many who followed them, came to America both for religious freedom, and a better future for their children. Many may remember the television series based upon Laura Ingalls Wilders’ novel, Little House on The Prairie. It’s the story of a man who moved west so his family would have a better future.

Today, Americans are more active in politics than the Ingalls were, and unlike England which the pilgrims left, we have the right to vote for who our leaders will be. Those would-be leaders have become deft at knowing what buttons to push for our votes. More often than not, these political candidates run on platforms that promise to benefit the children. Come Election Day, millions of citizens vote for the politician who has convinced them that they care the most about their children’s future.

Before Obamacare, President Johnson signed over 226 different bills of legislation that began what he touted as his “Great Society.” The Welfare Program was among the slew of new programs supposed to benefit only those in poverty who had children. It was a promise to end poverty as we know it, but sixty years later the poverty level in America is higher than it was when he signed the legislation. Along with the destruction of the family, almost 50% of Americans today collect a check from the federal government.

Like Obama, Johnson needed enough Democrats in Congress to write the legislation he wanted to sign into law. To do so, he ran a political advertisement that showed a little girl picking the petals off a daisy. The camera zoomed into the pupil of her eye letting the viewer see a nuclear explosion while you could hear Johnson saying, “These are the stakes—to make a world in which all of God’s children can live, or to go into the dark. We must either love each other, or we must die.” Since that election, politicians have perfected their ability to use children to get elected and to sell to the American voter on the programs they want enacted.

In the mid 1980’s, politicians convinced the citizens in state after state that lotteries would supply the needed cash for their education systems. The voters couldn’t resist the campaigns that promised to improve the education of their children. As of today, 44 states are involved in some sort of lottery where a portion of the earnings are used specifically for the education of their children. Unfortunately, the expected jackpot never materialized for the purpose it was intended. Instead we learned that state after state has been caught using the funds for programs other than education. Even if all the money was used as allocated, it would fall substantially short of the promises made to the voters.

Politicians also made the promise that the children would be the big winners if the people just voted to legalize gambling in their states. So in state after state the voters either voted for initiatives or elected officials who passed legislation allowing gambling to be legalized. As of today, 39 states have some form of legalized gambling, whether it be slot machines and video poker in restaurants and bars, or full-fledged casinos operated by independent owners or by Indian tribes. Like the lottery, a portion of the profits are supposed to benefit the education system for the children. As with the lottery, the money just never seems to materialize for the purpose for which it was sold to the people.

The politicians and the money-hungry bureaucrats are never at a loss as to where to get more money. They also recognize a sucker when they see one, and the American voters have “sucker” written right on their foreheads. Another scam they sold to the citizens was grabbing the profits from the tobacco industry. They realized they cannot kill the golden goose they wish to fleece, so instead they convinced the voters to raise taxes on tobacco products. As usual, the money is used for many general purposes instead of what they promised the voter. Again, the children were just a prop used by the politicians get what they wanted.

Obama and his cohorts in the Democrat party used the children to sell a Utopian healthcare system that the world would envy. So far the ones getting the least out of Obama’s promises are the children as tens of millions of American families are discovering. Because of the new regulations under Obamacare, they can no longer afford their healthcare insurance so now they have no healthcare. Need I repeat the lie of the century?

“If you like your plan you can keep it.”

We are still unsure where this debacle of Obama’s will end, but so far the future is looking pretty bleak for the children. As of 2015, the U.S National Debt will be $24.5 Trillion, while the children, whom the politicians swear they care so much about, are looking at a lifetime of trying to pay $144 Trillion in unfunded liabilities.

Like the children who followed the Pied Piper to their demise, so to have the citizens been continually following the advice of the greedy politicians while never realizing the promises made for the children. I’m reminded of the way the Israelites refused to follow the advice of Caleb and Joshua that the promised land was theirs for the taking if they just trusted the Lord. Instead, the people cried that they were fearful their children would be victimized by the giants of the land. In the end, it was their children who inherited the land while the parents died one-by-one in the desert.

Today I see the citizens continually falling for one promise after another that the future will be bright for their children if they just go for one more scheme. All the while these same politicians continue whittling away at the freedoms we once had as they line their pockets and the pockets of their friends in a system where crony capitalism reigns supreme. Like a malignant cancer, the government grows bigger and bigger by the year. Constantly taking more and more money from the citizens who keep falling for the promises that, “it’s all for the children.” In the end, it will be their children who will be the slaves of a system that is broken, thanks in large part to their parents, because they did it all for their children.

So most have no medical checks. Border Agents ( through Canadian Newspapers) report that teen age gangbangers try to have open sex on the floors of the “camps:” Gang Members are coming through Our Open Border while Border Agents are heating milk and changing Diapers. Groups like this like to portray Border Agents as pathological liars who hate “immigrants”. Mexican Police report MS-13 entering openly. Telling Border Agents there is nothing they can do……………Drug Resistant TB is endemic in central America. Adults bringing those kids are in those camps…they are being put on buses and planes…coming to a town next to you. No Medical Checks. They are coming fro free treatment and spreading the disease. It spreads by air. California has an epidemic of whooping cough. Over 800 confirmed cases which is officially an epidemic. Pity and Compassion for illegal aliens kids who will vote Democratic…..NOT a Drop of pity for poor kids in USA public schools who are being exposed to these diseases..the babies catching Whooping cough and mumps. NO pity for the Seniors who will die from the drug resistant TB. Or the HIV Aids cases. Anyone with a damaged immune system. I am sick of so called “churches” whining about the children..when they know there is drug cartel money and cheap labor billions behind it. JESUS..ROMANS 7: 1-17 OBEY THE LAWS. FOR GOD SET IN PLACE EVERY GOVT. IN THE WORLD. IF YOU DISOBEY THE LAWS, YOU DISOBEY GOD.

    1. Wow. I sense a lot of hostility towards an entity that is not responsible for everything you listed. Does the church profess to have sympathy for the children? yes, and rightly so. What we are seeing is no more the children’s fault, than it is the unborn baby’s fault for being created via the rage of rape. I do not express a desire for the situation to continue, but going off on the church is not the solution.

Maybe you should take that anger and write it the old fashioned way on a piece of paper and send it off to the editor of your local newspaper and make sure you tell them that you are more pissed at the current administration who has created this problem only to get everyone to cave into immigration reform.

By the way, the Scripture you used to complain that Jesus tells us to obey the Law, was alluding to the Law of Moses. The letter was to the Jews in Rome, and Paul wanted them to turn from the Law of Moses and follow Christ because the Law of Moses was not going to save them.

The Scripture you were looking to make your point about the law of the land is Romans 13:1-3

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.”

However, we are to also care for the children, the sick, the hungry etc. etc. etc. As I said, I am not real excited about the way this administration is playing politics by using children to get what he wants, but we need to address this by getting enough Republicans in office that will give us what the left gave Obama. A veto proof majority to reverse everything he has done, and hopefully enough to even Impeach and convict him of violating his oath of office.

      One more thing I want you to be aware of. In your anger against the church, you are getting angry at God, whether you realize it or not. Before you get too angry at those being used in this whole political scheme, or those who have compassion for the least of God’s children, I would I advise you consider what Christ told His disciples in Matthew 25:35-46;

for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.

Then He will also say to those on the left hand, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.”

“Then they also will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Remember, we may have many things to fix in this political landscape we call America, but truth is it is the world, and while we are flesh and blood, we don’t fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. So you need to remember that Obama, and those attempting to destroy America are the minions of Satan. The same demons who have infected the brains and hearts of those who push all kinds of evil in the world like murder, abortion, drugs, etc. etc. etc.

I know there are false christian churches who back many evil things, but there are still many who support God and follow His son. Just like the time Elijah cried to God that he though that Jezebel had murdered all the prophets but him. God spoke to him and told him that He reserved seven thousand prophets in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him. Elijah was heartened by the news, and he continued on.

You must know my friend, that God has reserved thousands, and thousands and thousands of His children who have not given in to the will of the world. we stand strong for the truth, and we fight the good fight to beat back the evil of the world, but in the same time we do care for those who are innocently being exploited for political gain.

God bless you, and may His strength and love of take hold of you as you go forward.

  2. The sooner Al Gore goes home to meet his father the devil the better. I know I am supposed top pray for him. and maybe he will find salvation, but in my lifetime I have never seen any evil public figure change their life. I can go down the list and to be honest, there are very few. At least I cannot think of any. It seems like when a public figure is evil, the bigger they are the more evil they are. I mean, when was the last time a person as big and important as Nebuchadnezzar saw the error of their way and truly humbled themselves before God and asked for forgiveness? Has never happened in my life, and i am over 60.

    1. I know what you mean, and as much as I do understand the feeling we must do our best to remember to pray for those who do us harm.

Paul tells us; “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Romans 12:20

So bless them, and let the Lord dish out the punishment they deserve.

  3. Good message OneVike, or I guess I should say Chuck.

Never knew you were so cute. LOL

Your wife Sharee is a very lucky lady.

God bless you and your old Ranger, Bob.

  4. Doing things for the children is all well and good, but when it’s done at the expense of their future it’s just plain selfish on the parents part. I should say parents and politicians they vote for.

    1. Yes you are right John. So many today are completely clueless of the kind of future they are leaving their children and, children’s children. Thanks for the comment John.
